2008 Alternative Education Options for Disciplined and At-Risk Youth

The 2008 Alternative Education Options for Disciplined and At-Risk Youth study was conducted by the Virginia Commission on Youth in 2007. This study effort addresses the various challenges facing school divisions regarding the use of expulsion or suspensions and reviews the utilization of alternative education options within the Commonwealth. This guide to local alternative education options for suspended and expelled students serves as a key resource to educators, health and human service workers, juvenile justice officials, and caregivers about locally-created and administered alternative education schools/programs in Virginia.
